General meeting is immediately followed by a presentation by Robert Crook: "Making Something From - Something: An Artist's Guide to Copyright in Derivative Works and the Fair Use Doctrine."
Artists from Shakespeare to Warhol have all borrowed from previously created works to create their masterpieces. So what rights do you have to do the same? What happens if someone uses your work in creating their own? This presentation will cut to the chase and focus on your rights and remedies under copyright law. We will review the important criteria used to make a case for copyright violation . . . or to claim your innocence if someone makes an accusation against you.
