Guest Speaker
Sinéad Finnerty-Pyne
Curator, Pasadena Armory

Sinéad will discuss what a Curator looks for in an artist’s work and how she looks at an artist’s work in relation to their Artist Statement. In order to get the most from this opportunity, participants are asked to review the attached “How to Write an Artist’s Statement” and write a Statement and bring it with you.

After the talk, a few participants will be asked to share their Artist’s Statements. Sinead will offer suggestions and explore ways to make the Statements more concise, informative and engaging.

We will then continue with the “How to Write an Artist’s Statement” program. We will explore ways of describing both our work and our process and we will use these exercises in writing our statements. We will share our efforts and discuss ways to make the statements more concise.

Refreshments will be served.
