Herbert Van Blarcom Acker (1895 - 1977)
Born in Pasadena, California; Died in Pasadena, California 1977

Herbert Van Blarcom Acker is often known for his portrait and desert landscape paitnings. As a two-term President of the Pasadena Society Of Artists, we would dearly love to find more visual reference and biographic information about him - Please assist us rediscover Herbert.

Herbert Acker was a resident painter of Pasadena from 1925 to 1946 and was an active member of the Pasadena Art Association where he won prizes in 1931, 1945 and 1946. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York with Douglas Volk and Francis Jones and at the Art Students League with Frank DuMond and F. Luis Mora. In Paris, he studied at the Grande Chaumeire and with Cecilia Baux and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1924.
