Tannaz Daemi-Rashidi was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. As with many artists, she has expressed her interest in photography since a young age. Her formal training includes private photography lessons in Iran and many classes at Pasadena City College, where she has received a scholarship. Having graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art in Iran, she pursued Graphic Design though her passion lives in photography.
Though she shoots in both digital and film, Tannaz still values film photography as opposed to digital. She feels that the pictures capture more character in the subject.
In 2001, Tannaz moved to the United States and first resided in NY. Two years later she moved to Santa Monica where her inspiration for her photography continues to persist. Her favorite aspect of photography is portraits. She often visits Venice Beach and surrounding areas to take pictures of an eclectic mix of people. Her goal is to make a book of portraits from photographs taken throughout her travels around the world!
