Jose Zamora is a native of California. He comes from a family of artist and musicians dating back to his great grandfather, a nature artist in Mexico. Jose's artistic influence came at an early age when he started painting landscapes in his early teens. His natural interest in art continued at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 1995 & Associates in Art in Sherman Oaks in 1996. After one year at Art Center he was recruited by the Walt Disney Company and worked as a concept character artist, to being an illustrator and as a product designer. He also had the opportunity to work on some children’s book illustration. But in parallel with his commercial field he had always had time to continue his fine art as a painter. He now continues to dedicate his time to his first passion as a plein air, portraiture and still life artist. His artist inspirations are Caravagio, Frans Halls, Velasquez, Sargent, Frederick J. Mulhaupt & William Wendt. He continues to keep the family tradition by doing what he loves to do best, paint. |
