Artist Statement

I view the camera lens as a canvas. My compositions are formed in my minds eye before I snap the shutter. I don’t crop or alter my images. The lens can capture a moment in time that may be appreciated and experienced long after the actual image has altered or vanished.
Some of my favorite photo images are of relatively obscure scenes, light hitting a leaf on the sidewalk or the shadows cast by an architectural feature.
Reflection and play of light and shadow are recurring themes in my work.
