EXHIBITION STANDARDS AND POLICIES
 

1. At each exhibition, the number and size of works to be shown shall be determined by the Exhibition Committee with regard to the space available. The Juror or Jury of Selection shall be told how many works can be hung in the particular show.

2. Original artwork only. No reproductions will be accepted.

3. All work submitted should be ready for hanging. Work that is not properly prepared for exhibition will not be eligible for acceptance into the show.

4. Frames must be gallery quality, securely wired, NO sawtooth, or alligator style hangers, no unframed work will be accepted.

5. Gallery Wrapped Canvases may be presented without frames, provided that all staples are on the back of stretcher bars (not visible when viewing painting from the side) and the sides of the painting are finished (no raw canvas).

6. Sculptors and three–dimensional artists shall provide their own display stands.

7. Any artwork submitted for a juried show must have been completed within the past two (2) years.

8. A member may not exhibit the same work in more than one (1) PSA juried exhibition. Each artist is required to maintain a personal record of works entered in PSA’s juried exhibitions.

9. Only PSA members whose dues are current may participate in any exhibit sponsored by PSA.

10. An entry fee will be collected for each entry. NO EXCEPTIONS.

11. The Annual Exhibition shall be open to all media, provided the venue can accommodate the entry.

12. The Juror or Jury of Selection shall be responsible for selecting the awards. A special Awards Juror may be assigned by the Board when necessary.

13. Prior to judging the entries, the Exhibition Chairperson shall instruct the Juror or Jury of Selection in the Exhibition Standards and Policies.

14. Only those receiving awards are to be informed of the awards prior to the opening reception. Award winners, or their designated representatives, shall attend the show’s opening and be present to receive the award. If the award winner is unable to attend, the Exhibition Chair and Board President MUST be notified prior to the event.

15. All exhibiting artists will attend the Opening or Artists’ Reception.

16. No one may remove art works from the exhibition before the specified take–down date and hours specified in the prospectus. NO EXCEPTIONS.

17. If the Juror requires an assistant, the assistant must not offer any observations regarding the artist and/or the art works.

18. No PSA member(s), except Exhibition Committee Members, may be present while judging is in progress. There shall be no conversations during the jurying process.

19. No artist may receive more than one award per exhibition.



WEBSITE EXHIBITION STANDARDS AND POLICIES
 

Effective 1 January 2008

1. The Website Committee will determine the number and size of works to be shown in Member Portfolios, and for the purpose of documenting PSA history. The Website Committee has established and will maintain an online gallery of fine art using the Member Portfolios collectively. PSA does not require a commission for Artwork sold from this website.

2. Members are responsible for establishing and maintaining their PSA website Profile with current data to include; primary media, portrait photo, mailing address, phone, email address, personal website, portfolio images, and written credentials.

3. Members will supply the Website Committee with the following using theMembership Profile form:

3a. A written set of credentials with meta-data about their digital images.

3b. A portrait photograph

3c. Four (4) digital files of their Best Original Artwork, which are available for purchase, and not consigned to another gallery.

3d. Members will also supply digital files of their Artwork that receives an award at a PSA Juried Exhibition, within two (2) weeks of accepting the award.

3e. All digital submissions should be ready for display, color corrected and retouched, at a minimum resolution of 2400 pixels across the longest dimension.

4. If a Member's Artwork listed in their PSA Portfolio is sold, that Member will supply a replacement image and meta-data of an Artwork available for purchase, and not consigned to another gallery.

5. Only PSA Members whose dues are current may exhibit their Portfolio on the PSA Website. Member Portfolios will be made inactive for accounts delinquent for over twenty-nine (29) calendar days.
